Linear Transfer Unit

Not all shuttles are created equal.


The MICSOL Transfer Shuttle (Cryo + HV) is an HV (e-6 mbar) Cryo (-170°C) compatible transfer unit with an integrated temperature sensor and optionally a counter heater and retract position switch.

The weight is just under 3.5Kg, and the interface is a standardised CF40 with a quick coupling option.

The length of the manipulator is freely configurable up to a stroke of 700mm.

Glovebox GLB.01

  • Ergonomic to handle and manipulate microscopy samples under direct sight in pure Argon or Nitrogen environment (switchable).
  • Ergonomics to handle samples in liquid nitrogen with virtually no ice contamination.
  • Liquid nitrogen supply flows directly into the GloveBox.
  • Connectivity between different brands of SEM/FIB transfer devices using inert gas / Cryo and ANY TEM holder. Units like Thermo’s Quick-Connect, Leice-Microsystems, Ferrovac and Microscopy-Solution are easily accommodated.
  • The GLB.01 can be supplied as a “Flush” box central if a clean Nitrogen supply is available or upgraded to add a gas purification system (Moisture and Oxygen < 1ppm.)


React Hub

The ReactHub is a thermochemical microfurnace employing fully programmable pyrometer-controlled laser heating and a cryogenically-cooled stage to produce and capture transient reaction states of environmentally-sensitive materials.


State-of-the-art gas mixing, vacuum pumping and residual gas analysis provide theReactHub's user with exceptional experimental control and, paired with vacuum carry transfer protocols, this platform allows for pristine observations upon a variety of microscopes (SEM, FIB, TEM, APT)

MICSOL Sample Holders

There are 18 different MICSOL sample holders in the range.

The advanced models are fitted with Cryo-Lid to allow safe and contamination free transfer, and all units are compatible with

BAL-TEC based cryo stages.


Some of the model configurations are:

  • Horizontal (surface station)
  • Pre tilted (SEM/FIB)
  • High Pressure Machine applications
  • Plunge freeze TEM-Grid and AutoGrid sample carriers.

Customised Dewars

A dewar that won't ice up.


The MICSOL Transfer Shuttle (Cryo + HV) is an HV (e-6 mbar) Cryo (-170°C) compatible transfer unit with an integrated temperature sensor and optionally a counter heater.

The weight is just under 4Kg, and the interface is a standardised CF40 with a quick coupling option.
The length of the manipulator is freely configurable up to a stroke of 700mm.
Unlike other similar products, there is little ice formation, and it is mechanically very stable due to the internal damping mechanism. 

Katana Ultramicotome

The Katana Ultramicrotome:

  • Transforms a normal SEM to a volume SEM,
  • 55 mm height fitting inside the SEM vacuum chamber,
  • Compatible with most SEMs.


K-kit TEM Specimen Holder
